Entry Fee: If your order is added to the exchange order book and waits, meaning you're a buyer offering a lower price than sellers or a seller asking for a higher price than buyers, then you become a maker. Maker fees are usually lower because providing liquidity is important.
Exit Fee: If your order is filled immediately, meaning you take an order from the exchange order book, then you become a taker. Taker fees are set to encourage those who want immediate liquidity from the market and are typically slightly higher.
So, if you add liquidity as a maker, you pay less fee, but if you place orders that are filled immediately as a taker, you pay a bit more.
